Here is a golden opportunity, so open your auricular sponge clots and listen up. I have some eggs that I need to get rid of. Twenty fucking seven eggs, in fact. There's a variety and what doesn't get taken by some happy new partner slash owner gets set free into the wilds to defend itself.

[ not really. he'll ship the remaining eggs to the day care or something. there's still plenty there to snatch up! ]

Otherwise? I've got nothing. I do want to ask if anyone has any leads on what the fuck happened the last week, but I'm doubtful that anyone really knows who was behind that shit.

I wonder how long these effects are going to stick around.

I still don't get why that's such a big fucking deal anyway. It's not like I can't sleep on the floor or curled up with our pile of beasts.

[Frowns and rolls a little onto his side, turning his face away from him.] You complain I don't sleep long, but I do stay asleep throughout the night if you're there.

[ there's a few pats to the back. ]

I'm not reading them. [Frowns further and turns then to give him a narrow eyed look.] You know it too, idiot.

Really? [ lip quirks. ] Because that sounded awfully sentimental.

[Somewhat of a blank blink.] What do you mean?

If you don't know, I'm not explaining this time.

Come on. [He's a dunce about things like this, god, don't blame him for being a derp! Sitting up a bit to lean so they're eye to eye, he waits.] What's sentimental about me needing you to sleep properly? I'm not the one who wants the extra sleep, but I'm not putting up with your complaints that I don't get enough of it.

What's more sentimental than subconsciously feeling at ease around somehow.

[Pausing, he quirks his head, but it sets in enough that he winds up with a sort of sheepish chuckle. Turning his head away as if that can let him ignore the warmth spreading to his cheeks.] I guess so.

[ Vani... why so simple in these areas? it's so obvious to Karkat that Vanitas favors him. but it's okay like this for now. Vanitas doesn't really realize those feelings. not quite yet. it gives Karkat time. desperately needed time. ]

[Without saying much else, he's going to settle down on his side and lean against Karkat again, closing his eyes because it's just awkward to leave them open anymore.]

Shut up. [He's relaxing in the few minutes until his alarm goes off again, and even then, he's reluctant to get up. But he does and moves to rotate the eggs again.]

You don't constantly need to do that, you know.

[ browsing the Gear's network in the meantime. ]

Needs to be done often enough since no Pokemon are settling on them. [Everything he has is too big to fit in the building or too small to cover all the eggs, otherwise Sanaa would be the best option. Once he's done, he's sitting back on the bed and adjusting the timer on his gear between ten minutes, instead of five. Leaning back and then settling down again, he just lets out a content sound.]

[ Karkat watches, half amused and half disgusted. eggs don't creep him out, true. but watching something hatch just kind of... ew. it's something he's been through and it's like of like reliving the experience. ]

Ever think to just throw a blanket on them?

I don't think that'll keep them all warm. They would need to be generating their own heat for anything to stick.

[Since he's given himself more time, Vani shifts onto his side and lazily drapes his arms around Karkat, making himself comfortable enough for a very short nap.]

[ Karkat is just watching Vanitas there, huffing a little. why is there hugging going on here... ]

[It's not really "hugging", he's just... hanging on. Settling his head on his friends shoulder, he huffs out a little breath.] Still needs something that generates its own heat in the mix. You've never climbed into a pile of cold blankets expecting them to be warm, just because it's a pile of blankets, right?
