One's mortality is a bit of a difficult topic, I think; it's not something that most like thinking about, and if they're in a position where they have to think about it, they don't particularly care to discuss it. I've always found it more comfortable to discuss such things and face it for what it is, but surprisingly few are the same way.

Helping someone out just because. Yeah, you don't see a reason not to, but even if I troll doesn't see a reason, they tend to make one anyway.

Well, I don't believe in complete generosity, and somehow I doubt that most humans do, either; at least not really. I suppose that if you really need a reason, it's through some sort of unrecognized assumption that if you're ever in a similar situation, the other person will assist you somehow - or perhaps someone else will assist you, as a way of the world paying you back.

It's not anything most people voice, but it tends to be the reason, I think. It's just not one that most want to acknowledge, because they like to believe they're better than that.

Well, that was more of a general statement to explain why people act as they do; personally, I generally help people if they're of some sort of particular interest to me, or if I believe they have potential to become that way in the future. I don't waste my time on complete charity, but you've presented me with a good amount to think about in the past, and you've actually explained something to me before in a way that made more sense than anything that humans say about the same topic.

Consider it to be in return for that explanation, if nothing else.
