[ actually, Karkat had a Typhlosion and a Luxray in his party during the start of his Johto journey. he would just assume it's borrowed or someone had disappeared and left it. that is, if he'd even care. which he isn't really likely to.

he's in the lobby, reclining in a chair, when she gets there. the egg is in his hands. Leopold, his Espeon, and Julia, the Swablu, are on each side of him.
