Oh my god... How can anyone want to stick around one place for longer than a few weeks when there's so much shit to get done? I've been settled in Vermillion for only about three weeks and I am already going absolutely shithive maggots. Maybe the best idea is to just blaze through those last few badges, I don't know. What I do know is that one way or another, I am getting the merry fuck on my way. Screw waiting for the weather warm up.

I think my Pichu is feeling it too because he's kind of sparking here and there. Is that normal? Like, my Ampharos when she was a Mareep had this problem, but what the shit do I do to avoid getting shocked this time around? It's not like I can just take care when brushing him! That and he thinks every damn thing is funny at the moment and it just sets him off! Right now it's a never ending spiral of shocking, what I think is giggling, and more shocking. Just make it stop, oh my god.

[ as if on cue, a little Pichu can be heard chiming in and an aggravated huff from a Zangoose. Karkat... he just groans. sighs... ]

Unrelated to all of the globetickling bulgehumps out there and my own trainer problems - which is to say that this message is only for those of my particular joint universes - where the blithering fuck is everyone? I just met up with Eridan a few days ago, but what about everyone else?

[ private to Rose ]

So um. There's a little bit of a problem.

I could ask Kanaya, but I thought... Uh...

Yes. That is quite normal. Vermillon's atmosphere creates one that's filled to the brim of static electricity. With electric pokémon, it riles them up a little more than usual. You make sure you have rubber gloves if you're going to touch your pokémon, obviously. Otherwise you're going to get shocked.

Yes. Vermillon has extra electrical charges, and, as such, if one is near some particularly energetic places, it's going to be sponged by pokémon who can handle it, or who can't handle it. It's why sometimes, while you're walking around, some people have hair that just seems to rise.

Why would I do that? It's well known that this city is the Electric City, for all of the gyms and ports and electrical grids it has. [ It supplies a bunch of power! ] The deep connections with the power plant go very far, as well.

And just what do you need at the store? [ Massive amounts of rubber? Check the closet! ]

A little metal pole for him to play with in the yard.

I believe I have a rod in the closet, if you wish to search for it. It's tall, metallic and can accept most charges. I also have a small antenna if you wish to attach it to his head. It seems to absorb electrical charges pretty well. You will find on the mantel, next to the photograph of me and the man with the green hair. [ Lust your dubiousness is kinda showing... ]

I'm a scientist that lives in a town where electrocution-related injuries are higher than the chance of falling on wet bathroom tile. [ Pause. ] I have most related-to-electricity things you'd be interested in.

[ That and working for team rocket and giving them to pokémon to guard the shipping warehouse is always fun and funny. You know, just in case if Lt. Surge wakes up and smells the criminal activity. ]

Ah, forgive me. We don't have television in my world and I rarely watch any here.

I do watch television, but I primarily just watch EVnews, where there is no slogans about learning new things. I also do read the newspaper, for the daily stories that I should keep up on. Additionally, if I need any extra information, I listen to the radio. Admittedly, it's rarely helpful but sometimes it does have its benefits.

Well, I quite prefer it. You don't have to deal with all of these thirteen year olds trying to contact you and then gibber on about their tragic lives. You just get the information you need, maybe listen to a nice relaxing composition with you and then go on with your private life.

The chances of encountering unremarkable intelligence are rather slim compared to other types of media.

You know you don't come off as a typical thirteen year old, right? [ He comes off much angrier, but she wouldn't say this out loud. ]

And, if I recall correctly, two and a half of your years are equal to a single human year. So that means you were roughly fifteen upon time of arrival? [ Oh. That probably wasn't right. Whatever. ]

You do realize that you're excluded from the "standard thirteen year old" clause, correct?

Thirteen, as I said.

[ but yeah... ]

I was just throwing out the facts, lady.

Well, the isolated biology and psychology of your kind at thirteen isn't so much the target as the average human at thirteen. Can we at least agree on that compromise?
